Turning a Blind Eye to Accessibility - 2018 Legal Obligations and Information Best Practices for all Companies Publishing and Distributing Content
3.30pm - 4.00pm
All organisations, public and private, have a clear responsibility to make information accessible to the blind and visually impaired or others with any incapability, disability or condition which makes reading difficult (print impairments). Jeff will guide us through what information managers need to do to comply with current Accessibility laws, explain legal obligations, advise on best practices and take a look at different document formats and their associated problems. From website accessibility rules to creating accessible documents in GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets, GoogleSlides, Word, Excel & Powerpoint, this talk will equip information professionals with everything you need to meet your information Accessibility obligations. Jeff will also explain why PDF’s reputation as a poor format for accessibility is so unjustified.
